Thoughts

Dear Aunty Audrey, I will miss sending and receiving your lovely letters and cards - much nicer than getting a bill in the post! You have influenced me in more ways than you probably knew, through your love of reading and caring for animals. I used to look forward to your visits and loved collecting you from the airport with Dad when I was a kid. I remember one year you carried over this huge stuffed elephant who had to sit on your knee in the plane. I would have loved to have seen him getting strapped in to the seat! Jumbo is still in Leitrim, as there are some toys I just couldn't give away. I am so sorry that Tony and I are unable to attend your service but we will still be in New Zealand. Just know you will be in our thoughts though and we will celebrate your life here.

I would just like to say that I feel honoured to have known Audrey, even for the short while that I did. When I visited her at her home we would put the world's to right. But more importantly we would laugh and she would cry, then I would make her laugh again! I am going to miss her fiery Irish outlook on life. Rest in the arms of our Lord, with a smile on your face. Fr Tony.
